  • Break Free, 2021

Acrylic, desert stones, seashells, sand, glue, modeling paste, and gold leaves on canvas.

    120 x 120 x 3 cm

  • As a counterpart to the gilded wings of Arise, the mounded form of Break Free evokes the nest, a place of safety and refuge in the quest for freedom. The artist conceives of the nest as a symbol for the support and love of family, which nurtures our ability to find freedom even as we rely on the stability and closeness of our home and relationships.
